When the Bhagwan Mahavir Jain Relief Foundation Trust (BMJRFT) became a reality in 2009, it performed its first dialysis at the well-known Mahavir Hospital. Within months, however, the need to be in total control of the entire dialysis operation was acutely felt. Members of the Trust found that a corner of the District Hospital, King Koti, was under-utilized, and approached the Government. In appreciation of the Trust’s charitable intentions, the State Government eventually offered rent-free space in this hospital, in central Hyderabad. It was a magnanimous gesture, and it allowed the Trust to set up its very own, state-of-art dialysis centre with 24 dialysis machines.
